Save the Planet. Save Money. Save the Date.
GREENERIE – Great story ideas:
The White House is growing an organic garden, why can't I? You can- and GreenFest Philly can show you how- even if you live in a studio apartment in Center City. With a festival themed around FOOD and physically centered around the Headhouse Farmer's Market, this year's festival will teach the importance of buying locally, growing organically, and the impact your food choices have on not only your body, mind, and soul, but on the environment as a whole.
‘2nd & South Streets GREEN ZONE' is emerging. Businesses in this district are increasingly green, whether it's the recycled paper napkins in local restaurants or the energy-saving lightbulbs, soy yarns, fair trade clothing, furniture from sustainable materials or organic inks at the tattoo parlor. The sky is still blue.
BRINGING THE WHOLE FAMILY– Make green a family thing. Teaching your kids the importance of making environmentally responsible decisions can never start to early. Come down and learn about all the fun ways you and your kids can get a little greener.
LAST YEAR'S FESTIVAL – showed Philadelphia that you can have a Zero-Emissions event and lead by example in every way from providing water to over 25,000 people without using single-use cups or plastic bottles, and by removing all of our recycling and compostables via bicycle thanks to West Philly's own Peddal Co-Op.
