Yo, Interns!

GreenFest Philly is set to be Philly’s major annual free eco street festival. We’re anticipating 20,000 people on Sunday, Sept. 7 .

Just now, we’re seeking committed, creative interns. Help plan and produce this great civic event! Want to work with environmental issues, event planning, public relations, guerilla marketing, design, informal education, new or mainstream media, or IT? You’ll do real work and gain valuable experience. And you will have fun watching your ideas and efforts shape an annual event that will help accelerate greening in Philadelphia.

GreenFest Philly was founded in 2006 – when 6500 people came to a one-block sustainability fair. Based on the increased success of 2007 where 14,000 people attended and the exploding interest in issues green, we are increasing our scope and scale.

For 2008, the festival will take over 2nd & South Streets, plus some satellite venues. We’ll feature mucho original green-oriented programming — Green Music Concert, Film Forum, Sustainable Water Speakers Symposium, Eco-Exchange Fashion Show & Clothing Swap, Sustainable Food Vendors, Green Transportation, local dessert competition and more. More than 200 exhibitors will be here too.

We’ll need a minimum of 10 hours/week – available now.

Sorry, the internships are unpaid. However, you’ll enjoy feeling effective and developing skills and interests, networking. This an unforgettable event. Your creative energy can genuinely help shape the entire festival! You will also work with an interesting group of experienced professionals, including senior museum professionals, environmental planners, web masters and arts administrators.
