Spiral Q Puppet Theater Presents: Puppet-Making with Recycled and Found Objects! Join the legendary Spiral Q puppeteers in making cool and creative puppets out of plastic bottles, plastic bags, and more. 11:00am-2:00pm.

 

Sustainable Water Play: Children can wash hands or play in a sprinkling water feature and watch as water is cleaned through a filtration system employing plants. This will be recirculating water with bio-filters showing an example of how water can be caught, cleaned, and re-used without using harmful chemicals and an example of water conservation. Designed and engineered by Jacques Trudeau, certified permaculture designer/consultant, (contact: jatru1@yahoo.com) Demonstration will be all day.

 

Vintage Dress-Up Booth: Imaginary play will be in full effect at Greenfest as children can dress up in variety of vintage costumes and funny,fancy or ferocious outfits.Vintage clothes and accessories made from recycled materials equals eco-friendly fashion! Sponsored by AIDS Thrift(clothes) and Re:Source(accessories). 11:00am-2:00pm.

 

Seedball Creations: Children will get to roll clay and seed mixtures into little balls of life! Seed balls are a method for distributing seeds by encasing them in a mixture of clay and soil humus. Seed balls can be thrown directly on the ground and will sprout in small cracks of sidewalk or large grassy areas. Presented by Torchlight Collective, an art and sustainability collective. 11:00am-2:00pm.

 

Organic Henna: Decorate yourself in organic henna designs- an ancient form of body art. Designs by Zendra Shareef. Available all day.

 

Magical Music Together & Enchanted Music Together: Children (infants through age 5) and their parents/caretakers can make home made instruments from household items! This family oriented activity models recycling and helps promote awareness of an Earth friendly behavior by re-using items to make the instruments instead of buying them. Sing along with songs about ways to conserve water and appreciate it as a natural resource! Available all day.

 

Love Your Fruits and Vegetables: Join the northeast's only green caterer for kids and learn how to make eating fruits and vegetables fun! Available all day.
